Prom was beautiful, despite the rain, and full of fun!
Mrs. Greathouse’s 5th grade ELA class hosted Galileo, the dog, from the ACAPL because of our recent collaboration project with the Ashtabula County Animal Protection League (ACAPL).
After coming across the following article: “Kids wrote pleas to help unwanted shelter pups find homes. It worked” (https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/2022/03/28/richmond-shelter-dog-adopt-students/?wpisrc=nl_sb_smartbrief), I thought it would be a great idea to do the same with our students for our local Ashtabula shelter!
The students picked an animal of their choice from the ACAPL website. Then, created a paragraph and drawing of their animal. Furthermore, the ACAPL put their papers up at their shelter!
The students wrote this in a persuasive style, and had so much fun creating it they did not even realize how much they were learning — at least in their teacher’s opinion 😉. Thank you Coach Greathouse for organizing this for our Mustangs.
